Dr. Abdulrahman Abodarahim
👁️ Dr. Abdulrahman Abodarahim is a Consultant pediatric ophthalmologist at the eye infirmary in the royal Wolverhampton NHS trust - United Kingdom. He has been in the field of ophthalmology for more than 13 years, 9 of them as a pediatric ophthalmologist.
👁️ Originally, Dr. Abodarahim graduated from the University of Ainshams, Egypt and then completed his core ophthalmology training at the Egyptian army military complex of Qobry elqubba in Cairo, Egypt. Following which he went to start his journey in the field of pediatric ophthalmology as a pediatric ophthalmology staff physician in the national gaurd children’s hospital in Riyadh, kingdom of Saudi Arabia for 5 years.
👁️Afterwards, he wanted to gain a higher level of training and joined in a full training post as a pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus fellow at Wilmers Eye institute in the John Hopkins university hospitals in Baltimore, MD, USA.
👁️ His skills in this sub-specialized field has grown but he went ahead and did undertake a prestigious Moorfields eye hospital pediatric ophthalmology fellowship full training post in London, UK for another year.
👁️ After being double fellowship qualified, he was then appointed at the eye infirmary in the royal Wolverhampton NHS trust where he is the pediatric ophthalmology consultant and lead for this service. He also manages complex adult strabismus patients who are accepted through the adult diplopia pathway in the trust.
👁️ He is now an expert in modern-day pediatric ophthalmology treatments (including strabismus surgery, pediatric cataract surgery & different pediatric Oculoplasty conditions). He is also an expert in routine and complex small incision strabismus surgery.
👁️As an NHS consultant, he participates in running a tertiary centre of excellence in the treatment of complex strabismus patients using Lancaster Red-Green charts to interpret and treat these conditions. He endeavours to provide the highest quality ophthalmic care, tailoring specific treatment options to the individual needs of his patients.
